No – it’s not a place to hammer away at things, unless you want to do that figuratively of course.

We named it The Workshop to pay homage to the past life of the DL Lawrence Hardware Supply Building – the space that The Workshop occupies used to be the machinery room – the space that contained the jointer, the thinkneser, the table saws; where Neville Newman, 25 years ago, would machine a piece of Oregon to order, 8 inches long, with a half-inch rebate, just what you needed, just how you wanted it.

That’s what it was then. And today, it’s not vastly different.

The Workshop is still a place to craft something up – just what you need, just how you want it.

The Workshop is a space for hire – for meetings. For retreats. For workshops. For kids parties. For Yoga. For discussions. For conversations. A space to learn. To share. To create. 

A space for everyone in our community and for those who visit.

Open business hours and after hours on request.

Facilities include projector, meeting tables and chairs, kitchenette. Internet and printing (extra cost).

Optional catering packages for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea – all made and catered for, on site site using award winning coffee beans and fresh, wholesome, locally produced meals. Contact us for a quote.

Come and visit us at Trader & Co. and ask to see our space for hire. We think it’s pretty nifty, actually.

Costs for Hiring The Workshop (refer to Terms and Conditions for Hire – times include ‘bump in’ and ‘bump out’).

Full Day $175

10% discount for not for profit and community organisations, and local schools.

Exclusions

Printing $.50/sheet.

Wifi Internet free for facilitators, but $20/ booking for participants.
